Peter McAskill

Not a pleasant story here, head over to the Daily Record website now to read it, they carry a full page article on page 19 of today's edition. Along with a picture of Peter receiving a gift for his loyal service to the football club.

I heard this story when it was still a rumour a couple of weeks ago. To be honest I thought it was just a silly rumour and refused to believe it could be true. Peter has been at the club for 50 years, the Supporters Club for two decades and was pivotal in setting up 'Friends of Berwick Rangers', which helped save the club in the early 90s.

Along with the likes of Ian Oliver and John Hush he is highly regarded as one of the grand fathers of the football club. So to read this story this morning must be quite upsetting for everyone at the club and us the supporters.
