Berwick Rangers 1-1 Queen's Park

A point is better than nothing...

This was a game we should have won, despite the truly awful conditions at Shielfield on Saturday. Sideways rain and gale-like conditions put paid to any hope of a flowing game, although to be fair both sides did try and pass the ball.

The feeling of having 'should have won' has featured after a few games recently, a sure sign we are steadily improving under Renwick.

We do need to tighten up at the back and decide which four players make up our best back line. This was demonstrated in the 25th minute with the Hoops' opening goal. A nothing ball from the Queen's left back should have been dealt with by Horn or Fraser but evaded them, which caught out Gary O'Connor and bounced past him on the edge of the area, leaving McGrady to pop in from the right and calmly place the ball home. A poor goal to lose, our players will probably blame the conditions, but it should have been dealt with.

With the wind in Berwick's favour, we went on to dominate in the second half. The equalising goal came with 16 minutes to go. It was new signing Kevin Davison, who had been quite quiet, who got down the left and swung in a perfect cross for wee David Greehill head home.

As I said before, we should have won this. Never mind, every point counts although the fight for survival is getting tougher each week.
