Gary O'Connor Shown the Door

Those of you that read the Pie and Bovril website will have seen the rumours regarding this. Apparently Gary O'Connor has been told he will not feature again this season and he is free to find a new club.

I have had it from a very creditable source that the rumour is true. Very sad indeed.

Gary has given the club over 260 games, spanning 15 years and three different spells at the club. He was recently made club captain and was also granted a testimonial. There has been a backlash against Michael Renwick already - check the O'Connor told to go thread on P&B. On Wednesday I said that Grant McNicoll has 'black and gold running through him', I put Gary O'Connor in the same category.

There seems to have been some sort of fall out between Renwick and Gary. I suppose unless one of the two make it public we'll never get the full story. One thing we do know, we have lost a great player and a top guy.

To fill the void, we have brought in Killie youngster Peter Logan on loan. Although I reckon Flockhart will keep the No. 1 jersey in the meantime.
